The First Lady who is also the Education Minister Janet Kataha Museveni reveals plans by Government to scale up Technical Vocation and Education training -TVET with in the frame works of all Education institutions in the country.

Kataha says that the enactment of the TVET Act 2025 has provided a framework to implement a more focused vocational education training system and thus asks all Ugandans to embrace this opportunity.

Kataha adds that government focus remains on ensuring that training is relevant and aligned with labor market demands

This, in a speech read by Minister of state for higher education John Chrysestom Muyingo while releasing the November/December 2024 Examination results by the Uganda vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) at Kyambogo.

Executive secretary Uganda vocational and Technical Assessment Board Onesmus Oyesigye says that the Board registered 31,890 candidates with 80 percent successfully completing their studies.

Oyesigye notes a good performance in most of the programs and a low performance exhibited in National certificate in Electronics Technology at 60 percent and this was mainly due to poor performance in applied mathematics.
