Women MPs want parliament to debate status of special interest groups

Women parliamentarians want the executive to table a motion in the house so that the status of special interest groups including women is discussed before political parties conduct nominations

During a meeting at parliament, the chairperson of UWOPA betty Among revealed that it’s a constitutional requirement that their status be reviewed without which many women Mps who are on the affirmative ticket may not be nominated to take part in the 2016 elections

Among says that at the moment there is need to move fast because many political parties are preparing to hold nominations
