Wakiso properties most highly valued

Residential real estate prices register a slow growth of 1.6% in the 1st quarter of the 2018/19 financial year.

This according to the residential property Price Index released by the Uganda Bureau of statistics(UBOS).

The findings computed also indicate that Wakiso district has the most highly valued properties in the greater Kampala metropolitan area.

Wakiso stock value ranked at 39.5% followed by Kampala central and Makindye at 23.7 %, Kawempe and  Rubaga at 23.3% and Nakawa at 13.4 percent.

The value of the houses is a computation of the product of the number of houses and their average price in the area.

The Director Association Real Estates agents Arthur Mukembo says the prices in the city center are highly priced due to their proximity to the Central business district.

He recommends infrastructure extension to sub urban areas can attract more people to establish and reside in the out skirts that will cause a drop in prices of properties in the central
