UPDF starts recruitment of LDUs

Recruitment of the Local Defense Unit as of the presidential directive is scheduled to start on the 25th/September to 1st /November 2018.

During his address to the nation early this month, the president ordered for the setting up of a 24,000 strong force of LDU officers and crime preventers to end the rampant killings in the country

According to a statement issued by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces, one must be a Ugandan citizen, medically fit, an adult between 18-35 with a minimum formal education of P. 7 to S.4

The recruits have recommendation letters from LC1 chairperson, secretary for Defense, PISO and GISO and they must reside from their respective areas, disciplined with no criminal record
