UNICEF cuts funding to Abim district

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) suspends funding to Abim district due to suspected corruption and failure for the district to account for the funds.

Abim Resident District commissioner Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka says the organization has been funding the district with over one billion every financial year for education and improving people’s lives.

Hashaka says  he meet with the head of UNICEF in Karamonja Rebecca Kwagala who confirmed this development

In an Interview with Radio One, Hashaka said he has written to the Chief Administrative Officer of Abim to carry out investigations into abuse of these funds.
