UNBS tightens fight on adulterated fuel

Uganda National Bureau of standards in partnership with the ministry of Energy and Mineral Development strengthen measures to fight fuel adulteration in the country.

Kitimbo Peter a field Supervisor at the Uganda National Bureau of Standards says that through the fuel marking and quality Monitoring program they have increased awareness to warn the public on fuel adulteration in some fuel stations.

Kitimbo says that starting this financial year they have put in place more mobile laboratories to reach all fuel stations and test the quality of fuel.

Speaking during a stakeholders meeting on fuel marking and Quality Monitoring Program, Kitimbo noted that adulteration is mostly done in Diesel   adding that fuel stations found with adulterated fuel face closure and evoking of their license.
