UNBS launches online portal

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards launches a 100,000 US dollar online portal to automate imports inspection and clearance expected to save traders time and money by providing easy access to information and approval of applications online.

Through the online portal, traders can now get import clearance certificates, various standard permits and ease in monitoring business transactions.

Launching the portal, trade minister Amelia Kyambadde said the system will remove trade barriers in Uganda and the region and will help maintain and enforce standards.
