Teachers want capitation grants in time

Teachers  urge Government to ensure that the capitation grants reach schools in time if the expected standards are to be attained.

UNATU Chairperson Margret Rwabushaija says many Government aided schools continue to struggle to achieve expected standards as they lack funds to operate.

She also decries the poor or no feeding in many schools saying it is also hugely impacting negativity on the general performance of students.

Several teachers at the forum also complained about the continued ranking of schools in the media saying it does not reflect an accurate picture of overall student’s development in relation to the prevailing conditions.
