Speaker on Kawempe Hospital’s state

The speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga orders the health committee of parliament to table a report on the state of Kiruddu referral hospital.

This after the committee went to Kawempe referral hospital  and found poor conditions. Among the findings was lack of  a sewerage system, only 2 out 10 theatres were functional and many patients were lying on the floor due lack of beds.

Addressing the media at the Sheraton Hotel, the speaker also urged women to embrace regular antenatal checkups    in order to enable hospitals to have clear medical track records of expectant mother in order to handle cases like pre-eclampisia that is the leading cause of maternal mortaloity on the country.
