Police get tough on motorcyclists

Police in Kampala give a last warning and a directive to all traffic police officers who have adamantly refused to arrest indiscipline cyclists who over load or carry excess passengers as they look on.

Addressing the press today , the police spokesperson of Kampala Metropolitan Patrick Onyango says that the commander of Kampala Metropolitan Andrew Felix Kaweesi issued a directive  to arrest all cyclists in that crime but the traffic policemen have not effected it.

He says that this is the last directive and order to be issued out , and failure to put it in order tantamount to a disciplinary action.

All cyclists are supposed to load one passenger  and those who load goods are not supposed to overload, and any operator arrested will be issued with an on spot fine ticket  of shillings 200,000= plus a passenger who accepts to be carried in a dangerous manner or imprisonment.
