Police bans opposition from travelling to Luweero

Police in Luweero bans opposition politicians from entering Luweero on the voting day for the Luweero Women MP by-elections, scheduled for the 22nd May.

The Director of Operations at Police, Grace Turya-gu-manaawe, who was recently appointed by the IGP to oversee the Luweero by-elections after the suspension of the Savannah regional police commander, RPC Richard Mivule and DPC Godfrey Ninsiima, made the announcement at  press briefing in Luweero.

He says they have learned that they are planning to cause chaos, a thing police will not tolerate.

However the ban has attracted a bitter reaction from the Democratic Aspirant Brenda Nabukenya.

There are 4 candidates in the race including the Democratic Party Brenda nabukenya, NRMs Rebecca Nalwanga and 2 Independents Ramlah Kadala and Faridah Namubiru
