Parliament to investigate acts of torture & harassment by boda boda 2010

Parliament decides to set up a select committee to investigate acts of harassment, torture and violation of human rights with impunity by boda boda cyclists mainly attached to a group known as boda boda 2010.

This follows a motion presented by MP Waira Kyewalabye Majegere asking parliament to look into the conduct of the group

Members of this notorious group are reported own weapons which they use to torture Ugandans.

Majegere warns that the boda boda sector has become a big security threat with police failing to investigate some of the cases reported.

The deputy speaker Jacob Oulanya says the committee will be given terms of reference as well as time frame to present a report to parliament.
