Parliament pays tribute to Nsibambi

Parliament unanimously passes a motion paying tribute to former Prime Minister Prof. Apollo Nsibambi who passed on at his home early this week.

The motion to pay tribute to the late Prof. Nsibambi was moved by the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and seconded by the whole house in a special sitting chaired by the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga this afternoon.

Rugunda described the deceased as an academic, researcher and politicians who served diligently all his life in various positions her held.

Nsibambi died on Tuesday from his home.

His body will later be taken to Makerere University at 5:00pm where the university community will pay tribute to him for his service to the institution where he served in various capacities including the chancellor.
