Opposition distances itself from Sejusa

A section of the opposition says they will not be involved in any political mobilization or activities to welcome Gen David Sejusa back until he explains in honest terms circumstances under which he returned to Uganda from exile in London.

Sejusa who  travelled from Sembabule to Kampala  had reportedly invited all opposition members to his home in Naguru to be part of his celebratory fanfare but members of opposition pressure group 4GC are suspicious that Sejusa could have negotiated his return to Uganda from exile.

Sejusa has been in Uganda for 2 weeks since he returned from UK where he had fled over a year ago after authoring a controversial letter for media publication calling for investigation into alleged systematic attacks and assassinations against senior Government officials opposed to the Muhoozi project.

The Justice Forum President Asuman Basalirwa says besides Sejusa’s perceived links with the state, he is still a serving UPDF officer whom they cannot work closely with since he is barred by law from engaging in partisan politics.
