NRM achieves 38% of 2016 election manifesto

The Ruling NRM party says that it has so far achieved 38% of the targets set in its 2016 election manifesto 2 years after the formation of Government.

The NRM was declared winner of the 2016 presidential elections and also emerged victorious in parliamentary and local Government elections with majority seats.

The NRM manifesto was anchored on the theme “Taking Uganda to modernity through jobs creation and inclusive development.” with a key promise of transforming Uganda into a middle income status by 2020.

The Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda says implementation of the manifesto is on course and that key targets will be met before the end this term.

This as he launched the NRM Manifesto week during which all ministers will be required to report to Ugandans through the media , the level of implementation of the manifesto.

One of the key achievements the NRM Government has boasted of for the last 30 years it has been in power is maintaining peace and security. This achievement is under question following numerous cases of unabated murders and violent crime across the country.

Currently kidnap for ransom has become a key security concern following the brutal killing of Suzan Magara and Brinah Nalule.

Dr Rugunda however says that this matter is receiving adequate attention and that the combined efforts of the political leadership, security agencies and Ugandans is critical in dealing with the perpetrators.
