Nalubaale & Kiira operating below capacity

The Uganda Electricity Generation Company says the Nalubale and Kiira power plants are operating below capacity because of the low levels of water and the decline in power demand

The acting Chief Executive Officer Dan Mayanja tells Journalists at parliament that the power plants are now producing on average 230 megawatts instead of 280 Megawatts

This shortly after attending a meeting with the committee on National Economy

Mayanja also reports that the company has been making losses and that there are efforts now to value its assets which is a very critical aspect if the company is to acquire any external financial support
