MUK students accused of murder allowed to sit exams

Three jailed Makerere University students accused of murdering their colleague David Ojok, have been allowed to write their exams from Luzira Prison.

State Attorney Esther Nalungi informsed Buganda road court Magistrate Pamela Ocaya, that she had received a letter from Prison Authorities that the accused would not be reporting to court until they finish their exams.

The accused students Ivan Mutungi, Marvin Atukwase and Derrick Wagooli all residents of Nkurumah Hall  are alleged to have pounced on  Ojok whom they mistook for a thief  and beat  to death on 12th April this year at Nkurumah Hall Makerere University.

Ojok was a former Makerere University Engineering student who had visited the University hall to collect his money from a debtor, who is also a student and resident of the same hall.

 

Magistrate Ocaya then adjourned their case to 4th.June.
