More rains expected in several parts of the country – Meteorologists

The Uganda National Meteorological Authority says most parts of the country will receive normal rains advising farmers to begin preparing for a new planting season.

The Executive Director of the Authority Dr Festus Luboyera says that apart from some areas of the West Nile region, Karamoja and some North-Eastern districts, other parts of Uganda will start receiving normal rainfall early next month

He advises farmers to take advantage of this situation to prepare land and inputs for the new season

This as he presented the Weather forecast for the season March to May at the Media Centre

Meanwhile, Seven people are reported to have succumbed to meningitis in Masindi district.

District health Officer John Turyagaruka tells Radio One that seven other cases are being monitored at Masindi hospital. The cases were reported in Pakaanyi Sub County.
