Minister wants investors to partner with govt to revive national airline

Tourism minister Maria Mutagamba proposes that businessmen and investors partner with government to revive the national airlines

There has been demand for government to revive the national carrier to help counter exploration Ugandans are subjected to while flying in other carriers

Mutagamba says if the task is huge for government investors should intervene noting that its crucial to have a national airline so as to ease movement of tourists and increase their number

While officiating at the grand opening of Hotel Africana which has been undergoing re-development, Mutagamba noted that the propose has already been tabled before cabinet and now awaits approval

For his part, the chief executive officer Hotel Africana Brahim Muwanga Kibirige says hoteliers are committed to boost the tourism sector

Kibirige says the 1.2 million dollar Hotel Africana’s redevelopment is intended to turn the hotel into a five star hotel
