Minister Kyambadde assures Europe on agro exports

Government puts in place an inter-ministerial strategy to ensure Ugandan agricultural products destined the international market are of the required standards

On several occasions Ugandan agricultural products have been found to be lacking with the European Union standards thus being denied access to the 27 nation-market

The EU’s concerns include pests , poor storage, packaging and pesticide residuals in Ugandan vegetables

Trade minister Amelia Kyambadde says the ministry of trade’s Uganda National Bureau of standards will help the to strengthen the ministry of agriculture’s testing and checking standards of products that are set for export
She was presiding over the launch of celebrations to mark 30 years anniversary for UNBS
