Medical insurer’s register losses due to fraud

Medical Insurance providers report losses from the service due to the high levels of fraud by both clients and medical firms.

This, according to the new survey commissioned by the Insurance Regulatory Authority-IRA among insurance practitioners, health service providers and General public.

Insurance Regulatory Authority Assistant Director for research Protazio Sande says much as the general public complains of poor relations by insurers, medical service firms also say insurance companies ask for too much in proof of claims.

Insurance Regulatory Authority boss Ibrahim Kaddunabi Lubega says poor service delivery by the insurance firms has to be dealt with so that the public gains confidence.
