Masaka to be connected to the national grid by the end of 2016

Districts of greater Masaka sub region are set to benefit from the National Data Transmission Infrastructure project which will cut the bureaucratic tendencies and lengthy procedures in access to information.

The Executive Director National Information Technology Information Authority-Uganda (NITA-U)  James Saaka says all government departments in the area will be interconnected to the national internet back bone grid.

Saaka says this will improve services delivery in government departments.

Saaka says that upon its effective implementation which is expected before the of this year, the project will eventually simplify communication between government institutions at reduced costs as well as promoting e-governance
