M7 wants milk production increased

President Museveni says the country should aim at producing 20 billion liters of milk annually for local, regional and the international market.

Currently, Uganda produces close to 1.8 billion liters of milk annually according to the Uganda National Bureau of Statistics.

Museveni says this can be surpassed with increased investment in the dairy sector.

He says farmers should now improve farming practices to increase milk production noting that quality of cows, pasture and water must also improve to realize quality milk.
