Kampala to get Electric Cable Transport System

KCCA says it is soon starting a feasibility study to explore the possibility of introducing an electric cable transport system in Kampala capital city.

The Executive Director Jennifer Musisi Semakula tells the presidential affairs committee of parliament that they are procuring a consultant for the feasibility study, which will soon be carried out to see which areas could use that type of transportation.

This according to Musisi is one of the initiatives by KCCA to address the future transport needs of the Capital City, and to deal with traffic congestion

Meanwhile, Musisi says she has now finalized plans to start reducing the number of Boda cyclists in the city centre, an exercise slated to begin at the end of the month.

She says that under the plan, no boda-boda stage or transportation will be allowed on major roads or near government buildings
