Health rights activists up in arms against Hepatitis B

Activists under the National Organization of people living with Hepatitis B join leaders from Northern Uganda and west Nile to raise the plight of thousands of people.

According to statistics at least 1 out of every 10 people is suspected to be carrying Hepatitis B.

Their efforts have been boosted by Electronic pay system group Payway to raise close to 500 million shillings towards the rehabilitation of Arua Hepatitis B unit to offer medical services to the affected persons in the north and West Nile region.

The Executive Director for the National Organization of People Living with Hepatitis B Kenneth Kabagambe says that the concern for medical attention is growing but efforts to alleviate their suffering have not yielded results.

Kabagambe adds that they have organized a charity walk on 26th march 2015 in collaboration with various stakeholders to build momentum for health service provision to the affected   communities.

This during a media briefing at Pay way offices in Nsambya.
