Health Activists demand for life saving emergency services

Health rights activists reignite demand for government to prioritize health service delivery especially putting in place life saving emergency services at health center threes and fours.

The campaign spearheaded by White Ribbon Alliance dubbed ‘Act Now to Save Mothers’ intends to ensure that government puts in place life saving emergency services by the year 2015.

The project Manager Samuel Senfuka says they came up with the campaign after a study they carried out in 3 districts of Mityana, Kibale and Lira indicated health centers have no requirements needed in health provision.

For his part, health minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda pledged government’s commitment towards the cause but urged men to support their pregnant wives.
