Gov’t to push for cheap internet

Uganda will use its position as Director General of the US-based International Telecommunications Satellite Organization to push for the provision of cheap satellite services to low developed countries in the next four years.

A Ugandan, Patrick Masambu was elected Director General early this month at a meeting held in Washington.

While addressing journalists at the media center, ICT, and National Guidance minister Frank Tumwebaze says that Masambu will articulate this agenda since satellite communication which is more effective remains an expensive venture for many African and island nations.
