Govt mourns 22 bus accident victims

Government declares three days of national mourning for those killed in a nasty road accident that occurred over the weekend.

The accident occurred on Friday night at Katurikire village in Kiryandongo

Over 20 people died in the accident and several others seriously injured

A statement released by the prime minister’s office says families of the deceased will be given 5 million shillings each to help in burial arrangements

Three million shillings will be given to the injured as contribution towards their treatment

meanwhile, the ministry of health dispatches a team of medical experts to Mubende and Kakumiro district to combat the spread of the Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever which broke out in the district

The outbreak has so far claimed the life of one person whereas five others are under supervision

State minister for health Sarah Opendi says the rapid response team will continue to monitor those under quarantine
