FDC to repeat swearing in for Amuriat

The opposition Forum for Democratic Change is set to repeat the swearing in ceremony for the newly elected party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat.

Oboi was elected the party president last week after defeating the incumbent Gen. Mugisha Muntu

After the polls, Oboi took oath of office late in the night which is contrary to party procedures

FDC deputy general secretary Harold Kaija says the president elect will now take oath of office on Thursday this week.

Meanwhile Former Ethics and Integrity Minister Miria Matembe refutes reports that she has teamed up with former FDC president Mugisha Muntu and other FDC leaders to form a new political party

This after reports that Matembe held a meeting with FDC officials who include Amanya Mushega, Beatrice Anywar, Winnie Kiiza, Ibrahim Semujju Nganda,  Gerald Karuhanga  and the former prime minister Amama Mbabazi

But Matembe says these reports are baseless
