Electricity distribution impediment to e-learning

Information Communication Technology experts say electricity distribution in rural areas remains the biggest impediment in rolling out e-learning in Uganda and other African states.

Speaking at the three day e-learning Africa conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo, the Manager Digital Schools for the British Council in South Saharan Africa Dionnis Ngungu says government should accelerate distribution of electricity since computers mainly depend on electricity to function.

For his part, ICT minister John Nasasira assured that government is increasing coverage of the national electricity grid and the national back borne initiative in rural areas.
