Eight DRC refugees die of cholera

Eight refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo have died as a result of Cholera in Kyangwari refugee settlement in Hoima District.

This is contrary to assertion by the ministry of health spokesperson Vivian Nakaliika that no cholera cases had been recorded among the refugees.

Hoima District Health Officer Dr. Joseph Ruyonga notes that the eight are part of the 320 isolated cases.

Ruyonga says they have beefed-up sensitization campaign in the camps to contain the outbreak.
