DR Congo hands over bodies of police officers killed there

The bodies of Uganda police officers killed in DR Congo recently have been handed over to Uganda.

Last Saturday, four police officers; Sgt Faruk Waiswa, Constable Moses Ochen and Constable Bernard Isingoma, were ambushed by Congolese soldiers and shot at as they responded to an illegal fishing incident on Lake Albert in Uganda’s waters.

The three bodies were reportedly in bad state which prompted Uganda to send four doctors to Bunia to treat them before transporting them to Uganda

One of the officers Cpl Biral Obara who was believed to have been killed with the three others durng the ambush is still alive.

The Regional Police Commander of Rwenzori Dennis Namuwoza says that the team with the 3 bodies and an injured police man left yesterday morning from Bunia to Mahagi in Nebbi district.
