DPP orders trial of trial of US citizen Ryan Gustafson

The Director of Public Prosecution Mike Chibita orders the trial of an American engineer Ryan Gustafson, facing charges of forgery of dollar currency notes.

Representing DPP was State Attorney Lillian who informed court that investigation into this case are complete and witnesses from United States and South Africa are flying in next week.

Ryan Gustafson, also faced fresh charges of having in their possession 3 forged currency notes of 5000 denomination of Uganda shillings.

They also denied this allegation and Buganda road court chief Magistrate Lillian Buchana fixed 5/Feb/2015 for trial to start.

Prosecution says that on December 11, 2014 at his residence in Mbalwa Namugongo where he is also illegally staying and at Speke Hotel in Kampala, Gustafson conspired with a Ugandan native Christopher Kojo to sell forged US dollars worth 10,000 (around shs27M) to a one Cedric Namakoola.
