DPP drops charges against state minister for Nantaba

The Director of Public Prosecution, Mike Chibita says his office has not received evidence linking ICT State Minister Aidah  Nanataba or any other officers  to the murder of Ronald Ssebulime.
Ssebulime was gunned down by police officers on 24/March,this year in Mukono District on suspicion of tracking Idah Nantaba with intentions of harming her.

The DPP maintains that the only suspect they have is CPL Ssali David who in April/ this year was produced before Mukono Chief Magistrates court and was charged with the alleged murder, whose committal for trial in the High court is going to be communicated on the next mention date of this case.

However the DPP revealed that come 30th this month, Prosecution is going to formally apply to Court to have the privately instituted charges against Nantaba and the four officers, discontinued because the time the court gave to the private prosecutors to avail evidence in their possession to the DPP, has lapsed.

The DPP has also disowned the withdrawal letter that is being curculated on social media, indicating that his office has already discontinued charges against Nantaba and the four officers without the knowledge of Ssebulime’s family.
