DP threatens to drag officers behind Kasese killings to court

Opposition’s Democratic Party threatens to institute criminal proceedings against the recent killings in Kasese.

Democratic party President Nobert Mao condemns the continued deployment of police and army across the country which is resulting into killings of innocent unarmed Ugandans.

Addressing a press conference at the DP headquarters in Kampala  Mao said that  there was no need of shooting to kill adding that police  should have used other means like pepper spray , tear gas or rubber bullets  to disperse the unarmed civilians .

Mao says that DP has instructed its branch leadership to investigate this incident   and submit a report by Thursday this week.

Mao says that these people were only protesting what they believed was a violation of electoral laws.             

In another development DP also pledges support   to the petition seeking to annual the outcome of the Presidential elections held on the 18 last month.

Mao says that there legal advisor Samuel Muyizzi is part of the team of lawyers.
