DP attacks muzzle on media

Opposition Democratic Party, DP, condemns the manner in which the UCC is trying to dictate on the Ugandan media saying that this need to stop for media freedom and democracy.

The party president Norbert Mao addressing the media in Kampala says as DP they are not going to sit back and watch the trend hence noting that as DP they are willing and ready to take on the legal issues on behalf of the threatened media houses.

He however, cautioned journalists to stick to their media ethics as they execute their duties and desist from taking sides or supporters.

Meanwhile, Mr Mao says that the path taken by the opposition leaders is promising when it comes to the future politics of the country that needs regime change.

Mao while addressing the media at the DP headquarters indicated that as DP they have for long time yearned for unification of the opposition and all those that need change to happen which now have started showing positive signs.

He cited the visit of FDC Dr. Kiiza Besigye with the Peoples government to Hon Robert Kyagulanyi in Magere as a sign of unity as now they need to come together and no one left behind.
