Doctors to resume talks with govt

Doctors are set to resume negotiations with the government to resolve the current stalemate that has led to industrial action which has paralyzed the health sector.The doctor’s strike has entered a second week as they demand government to improve their remuneration, provide medical supplies and equipment in hospitals and disband the state house health monitoring unit

The President Uganda Medical Association Obuku Ekwaro says the prime minister has directed the ministry of health top officials to negotiate with the doctors and come up with a report late this week

Meanwhile, Obuku notes that a team of lawyers has been lined up to offer legal assistance to doctors that are facing threats from state operatives like the police and RDCs
