Authorities impose a curfew in Masaka, Lwengo, Bukomansimbi & Kalungu district

A joint security committee in the greater Masaka sub region declares a curfew, restricting movement of persons and operation of bars beyond 11pm following increased reports murders and robbery in the region.

At least six people have been murdered and several others injured from the recent spate of night attacks that have left communities in districts of Masaka, Lwengo, Bukomansimbi and Kalungu in state of fear.
The committee comprising of Police, Reserve force and Army is headed by Lt Joel Walusimbi also the Masaka Resident District Commissioner.

Meanwhile Police Spokesperson Assan Kasingye reveals that police will deploy special teams that will work with authorities there to wipe out crime in the region
