Atiku vows to compel govt provide sanitary pads for girls

The Chairman Uganda Parliamentary Forum for children Bernard Atiku vows to spearhead a move intended to compel government prioritize provision of free sanitary pads to school going girls to reduce on the increasing cases of school dropout and absenteeism in school

Last month government backtracked on its pledge to provide sanitary pads to school going children saying money is not available to fulfill the pledge prompting concern from legislators and the public

Several stakeholders have demanded that government and president Museveni comes true on the promise made during the presidential campaigns

In an interview with Radio One, Atiku stressed that he will mobilize fellow legislators to compel government prioritize this issue during the budget formulation process
