Adopt modern technology to boost agric- Experts

Information Technology experts say it is high time developing countries fully adopt modern technologies to boost their agricultural productivity and widen the tax base as well.

This has been sounded by Raymond Maxwell , the co- founder of the US based Live your legacy project who notes that the success of the agricultural sector and poverty reduction depend on embracing and adopting technologies.

He points the jaguza livestock app, developed by Ronald Katamba that helps in detecting early stages of diseases in animals and used to monitor and detect theft of livestock.

Maxwell made the remarks following Katamba’s presentation at the entrepreneurship retreat in California in the USA on how the app functions.

Maxwell says scientists engaged in addressing  issues of food production through use of improved technologies, must put emphasis on crop production and animal husbandry.
