A man attempts to attack bishop on the alter

A man identified as Herbert Kaddu attempted to attack Namirembe diocese bishop the Rt. Rev Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira while delivering his Easter homily at Namirembe cathedral.

The stick wielding man fell down as he ran towards the alter where the bishop Luwalira was preaching from

He was then quickly intercepted and is currently detained at Namirembe Police post. Luke Oweyesigire investigations will be conducted to ascertain the attacker’s mental status.

Meanwhile, during this Easter celebrations, prelates have centered their message on the continued murder and kidnap of people across the country

In his message bishop Luwalira condemned the mysterious killings and called for love amongst Ugandans

In his message, the archbishop of Kampala diocese Cyprian Kizito Lwanga also re-echoed his message, condemning the increasing mysterious murders across the country

Lwanga also decries escalating cases of land grabbing which have left a number of people displaced

At All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero, the archbishop of the church of Uganda , the Most Rev. Stanley Ntagali called for a stop to unrest on the African continent noting that these have left several people in suffering

He also showed concern over hatred which has resulted into abductions and murder

He tasks the authorities to play their role of protecting Ugandans
