80 Pentecostal churches authorized to conduct marriages

Government authorizes over 80 Pentecostal churches across the country to officially conduct marriages

For the last 58 years, only 62 Pentecostal churches have been having licenses to officially conduct marriages

Attorney General Fred Ruhindi says the license comes with an obligation to file return of all marriages celebrated by those licensed churches

Handing over the official marriage license to born again churches at Hotel Africana, Ruhindi said this development will support increase government revenue collection and also help the Uganda Registration Service Bureau put up a national marriage database

For his part, the presiding apostle, Born Again Faith in Uganda, Joseph Sserwadda says this is a great achievement for the church
